Greenzo Energy India Limited (GEIL) has partnered strategically with France’s EODev (Energy Observer Developments) to bring cutting-edge hydrogen fuel cell generators, the GEH2, to India and Nepal. This move marks the first deployment of Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell technology in South Asia, reflecting a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions in the region.

Under the partnership, GEIL will oversee the distribution, maintenance, and eventual local assembly of EODev’s products. The collaboration targets industries such as agriculture, telecommunications, and transportation, offering a greener alternative to traditional diesel-powered generators. This initiative aligns with India’s goals to reduce fossil fuel dependency and is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

The agreement also complements the ‘Make in India’ initiative by fostering local manufacturing and job creation in the green technology sector. By combining Greenzo Energy’s expertise in electrolyzer production with EODev’s hydrogen power solutions, the partnership aims to build a robust hydrogen energy infrastructure in India and Nepal.

In October 2024, GEIL further bolstered its green hydrogen credentials by securing a major project with the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation. The project involves the establishment of a hydrogen generation plant at the Ennore SEZ Supercritical Thermal Power Plant in Tamil Nadu, using electrolyzers manufactured at Greenzo’s Sanand facility in Gujarat.

This collaboration highlights India’s commitment to transitioning to zero-emission energy systems and underscores the growing momentum in the hydrogen energy sector.
